We are situated in Rasteau, a little village in the Provence – Alpes – Côte d’Azur region of Vaucluse between Orange and Vaison la Romaine.

Domaine des Coteaux des Travers (Domaine of the Slopes of the Rising Sun) has been passed from father to son since 1920. Robert Charavin, currently at the helm, took over for his father, the first to bottle the domain’s wines in 1976.

 

Superficies : 

* 10 hectares on Rasteau

* 4 hectares on Cairanne

Grapes varieties : 

For our whites : White Grenache, Roussanne, Marsanne

For our reds : Black Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan

Soils : 

In Rasteau, the soil is particularly rich in clay with an exceptionally sloped southern exposure. The vineyard of Cairanne is divided between sandy, clay and garrigue soils (rich in iron which give it a red colour).
